We had a delightful stay at a charming hotel with a rich history. the receptionist at Romantik was very accommodating, allowing us to check in early and even upgrading our room to one with a partial view of the water. the room itself was spacious and beautiful, and the breakfast provided was fantastic, complete with mimosas. the location was perfect, close to the bridge and shopping area. it was one of our favorite hotels, and we would definitely stay here again. Cons: Could not be improved in any way. 😊.

Brilliant location, good buffet continental breakfast.
Our original room was way below the standard I would have expected based on the pictures and descriptions provided in the website, plus the price. It was very small, very tired, with stained upholstered chairs and headboards on the twin beds, despite requesting a double. After complaining, we were immediately shown two alternative rooms and ultimately moved to a junior suite which was far better but initially were expected to pay a surcharge, this was waived when we checked out.

Excellent room especially as got upgrade to superior room with no extra charge. Location on edge of old town and near wooden bridge. Free coffee machine on second floor was good idea, Breakfast choice was very good with efficient staff.

Some things were good here, but a few staff members seemed unfriendly. The room I stayed in had an air conditioner and a chair. 😊

We liked the ambience of this hotel, with it's nooks and winding hallways and antique furniture and unique decorations. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Our corner bedroom was bright and spacious with lots of windows, and the bathroom had a double sink and a bidet. The german style restaurant in the hotel had a nice decor and atmosphere and good service. The breakfasts were delicious. The location was great being right in the old town ,very close to the river and very central, close to the railway station and everything was within walking distance. All in all we enjoyed out stay and would recommend this hotel to others.
Our initial room was quite small with a very tiny bathroom, however when I requested the next day to move to the much better room beside it, there was no problem and the move was facilitated right away, without any extra charge. The location was fairly noisy at night-mostly because the windows were open and the voices and feet echoed on the cobblestone road and narrow street- but if we closed the windows, we found the room too hot. The carpet in the hallways needs to be updated.

The actual hotel itself is beautiful. It is very old and the furnishings reflect the period in which it was built. It is very central to everything and is very near to the lake. The room was comfortable and was very warm. The beds were soft as were the pillows. The food in the one restaurant we tried was tasty and the portions were a decent size. We liked that you could go and make your own tea and coffee from a machine on the 2nd floor.
The staff on the front desk were not friendly and it felt as if they begrudingly helped with requests. When we arrived the woman on reception did not even look up to greet us but carried on with her work until we reached the counter and spoke to her! We made a couple of requests during our stay and felt as if we had asked to be sent to Mars in a spaceship! The breakfast was adequate but nowhere near the standard we had experienced in other hotels in Switzerland. Once finished items did not appear to be topped up.

the restaurant came as a surprise which unfortunately we only discovered on the last night out of four! really superb food. Also the location was excellent
The bed was uncomfortable. Heating didn't work properly. My daughter's single room was like a cell which at that price was not really acceptable. Room service was only available at certain hours i.e. not in the afternoon. Also attitude of one girl at reception was poor i.e. All in all, I don't think this hotel is as wonderful as it seems to think it is. Apart from the restaurant there's no reason to go there. The hotel in Zurich was far superior, had wonderful staff and cost a lot less

Had a lovely Christmas at a hotel in Switzerland. The meals were delicious, and the staff was friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The location was perfect, right by the water and close to all the sights. Being able to explore the old part of the city easily was a huge advantage.
The hotel overbooked and we were transferred to another hotel upon arrival. It was a major disappointment as we had pre-paid for our room and were looking forward to staying in the central part of the city.

The hotel is very charming and I loved the location. The staff could not have been more polite and courteous. Our room was beautiful and very spacious and the bath was gorgeous!
It is not air conditioned and like all hotels in old town Lucerne, it is very expensive.

The hotel is in a great location, right in the center of the Old City, allowing easy access to all parts of Lucerne within walking distance. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with nice linens and comfortable beds. The bathrooms have all the necessary amenities. The staff is friendly and helpful, providing information about the city and offering good restaurant recommendations. The breakfast provided is satisfying with a good variety of options.
The lack of air conditioning in the rooms can be uncomfortable during warm weather.

Nicely situated and nicely decorated and room was very spacious. Breakfast was also very good.
Inevitable for a city hotel but the car park is expensive and a little walk away.
Tourists from South Africa often stay at these properties. Ideas for your future trips.
